Founder Agreement

1. What you are listing

You describe a benefit — credits, licences, downloads, access, or covered running costs — and how many units of it you will give away. You confirm that you own or are licensed to give away what you list, and that your description is accurate.

2. Review and approval

Campaigns start as pending and are reviewed before they appear publicly. We can decline, pause, edit or remove a campaign at any time, including if it misrepresents the benefit, breaches someone’s rights, or attracts abuse.

3. Your delivery obligation

This is the core of the agreement. When someone validly claims your benefit, you must deliver it.

• Deliver on the terms you advertised, to everyone who claims while a sponsorship is running, up to the quantity you published.
• If you chose email delivery, fulfil requests promptly and mark them delivered.
• If you chose unique codes, keep valid codes stocked. Running out mid-window is a failure to deliver.
• Members may confirm delivery or report a problem. Open disputes and undelivered claims hold the related sponsorship payout until resolved.
• Do not add conditions that were not on the campaign page — no surprise payment details, no forced upgrade.

Persistent failure to deliver may mean removal, refunds to sponsors at your cost, and withheld payouts.

4. Sponsorship windows

You choose how long one sponsorship window lasts and how far ahead your calendar can be booked. A sponsor who buys a window owns that placement for its full duration — you cannot cancel, resell or displace it once it has started.

Claims are only open while a window is running. Between sponsors, your campaign stays visible but nothing is given away.

5. Fees and what you receive

• We deduct a platform fee of 15% of each sponsorship unless a different rate is displayed on your campaign. The rest is credited to you.
• The split is calculated and recorded at the moment of payment, so a later fee change never alters a completed sponsorship.
• Payment processing costs are borne by us out of our fee.

6. When you get paid

• Funds are pending while a window is running and while any associated claim is undelivered, inside its 72-hour review period, disputed or upheld as failed.
• A delivered claim is confirmed when the member approves it or when the 72-hour review period ends without a report.
• You must connect and complete a Stripe account before funds can be transferred to you.
• Available funds are transferred automatically through Stripe. Stripe’s own review and bank processing times may affect when they reach your bank.
• You are responsible for your own taxes, and for giving Stripe accurate identity and payout details. We are not liable for funds sent to details you supplied incorrectly.

7. Refunds and chargebacks

If a sponsorship is refunded or charged back, the corresponding amount is reversed from your balance and, where possible, from the Stripe transfer — including where it has already been made available. If your balance goes negative, it must be cleared before any future transfer.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of your name, logo and copy. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display them on FundedBy and to reference your campaign in our own marketing while it is live.

9. Claim data

You receive the information needed to fulfil a claim. Use it only to deliver the benefit and to meet your legal obligations. Do not add claimers to marketing lists without their consent, and handle their data in line with applicable data protection law.

10. Ending it

You can stop listing new campaigns at any time. Any sponsorship window already paid for must be honoured to its end. We may end this agreement if you breach it, and will pay out any balance you are legitimately owed.
